Women of FIRST

Every woman yearns for friends who will walk with her through life's joys and sorrows. Women of FIRST is designed for women of all ages to know that they are uniquely gifted by God. It is our desire for women to find a place to study the Word of God and equip them to use the gifts that God has given them.

For more information about Women of FIRST, please contact Coordinator April Walley, or call the church office at 830-625-9124.

Ladies' Bible Study - Philippians

February 5 - April 15 (we will not meet March 11 or 25)
Wednesdays at 6:00pm
Rushing Hall

The life Jesus invites us into when we follow Him is one of sacrifice. But does sacrificial living mean the Christian life should be riddled with sorrow? Paul answers that question in his letter to the Philippians with a resounding no. Paul, and the Philippians with him, lived joyfully in the midst of persecution, prison, and poverty.

In this eight-session series, Jo Saxton takes us through Philippians to encourage us to follow Jesus no matter what life throws at us. Through Paul's words and example, learn how joy and sacrifice can go hand-in-hand.

Please sign up online or at the Welcome Center in the Sanctuary Foyer.

Dress a Girl Around the World

The Women of FIRST invite you to make pillowcase-type dresses for orphans for the Dress a Girl Around the World ministry. We schedule sewing days periodically throughout the year. You can come learn how to make a dress, or come enjoy fellowship and share your experience if you already know how to make them. We also have donated fabric available for you to use if you'd like. Download instructions here if you'd like to keep sewing at home throughout the year. We will be sending all of our dresses twice a year to headquarters for shipment around the world. If you have dresses you would like to include in the shipment, we would be happy to collect them in our church office. We can add the Dress a Girl labels to your dresses for you. For more information, please contact Carolyn Daves at rcdaves@gvtc.com.
