Student Ministry

Grades 7-12

In the FBC Student Ministry, we strive to live like Jesus ... learning, laughing, growing, praising, loving, serving, going and doing.
Our goal is to see students become rooted in Christ and grow to be influential for His Kingdom.

Our messages are meant to help students engage and understand how the Bible actually applies to our lives. Small groups (Sunday School) are the opportunity to build authentic and lasting friendships.

We have lots of fun with special events, retreats, summer youth camp, mission trips, volunteering in the community, and more.

Student Pastor - Travis Roper,

All students begin at 9:30 in AMC 224 for opening assembly.
Then each group breaks off for Bible study using The Gospel Project.
As of September 13, 2020, grades 9-12 are starting off combined (one boys group and one girls group) until more people return in-person.

19 Lake Day at Canyon Lake
12:00-3:00 PM (May be rescheduled for another day. Decision will be posted here by noon, June 18)

    23 Connect at the Park
Join us for this picnic event designed to help us connect with each other and the community. We are too many to gather in one location, so we'll be "spreading our light" across the city in at least three local parks: Landa, Fischer, and Cypress Bend. The Men's Ministry will serve burgers and hotdogs at 6:00 PM, but feel free to come earlier and hang out. We'll also provide bottled water. Bring a side or dessert if you're able, and your lawn chair or other drink if you wish. We will have a special gift for those who attend, so don't miss out! Please sign up here so we know how much food to prepare at each park.

    7 Pop-Up Popsicle
Looking for a creative way to engage the people in your community? How about you break the ice by giving them a Popsicle on a hot summer day! We want all First Baptist families and small groups to prayerfully think of where they would like to engage others. This could be your neighborhood, local pool, down at the river, or wherever you feel God sending you. You can buy your own popsicles or order the amount you would like to pass out through the church. We want to use these popsicles as a tool to allow for us to share the message with each person that God loves you and sent His Son to die for you. We want others to see us not only sharing a cool treat, but also sharing this life changing truth. Who knows what conversations may get started from the simple gesture of sharing a popsicle with someone in your community? For more information, contact Children's Pastor Doug Dunnavant at
