Planning for the Future

November 22 - A Vote to Reinvest
5:00 PM in Rushing Hall

The past two years have been both exciting and challenging as we have sought God’s direction for reaching our community with Christ and making room for them here at FBCNB. During our October 25th Business/Vision Meeting (view below), we shared several strategies we feel God has laid before us, including expanding our ministry through digital media and making room for more people at our facility. We believe God has closed the door on a full-campus relocation and has called us instead to reinvest in our current location right here at 733 Cross St.

Please view/review Pastor Brad’s presentation above in preparation for a vote at the Special Business Meeting Sunday, November 22nd, at 5:00 PM in Rushing Hall. We are not voting on any specific plan, but rather to set in motion the necessary teams to develop a reinvestment plan.

We understand that voting in favor to reinvest carries the following recommendations:
  1. We ask the nominating committee to recommend church members to populate the following ad-hoc committees:
    • An ad-hoc building project committee (to be voted on at the next business meeting).  Their task will be to begin a process of discovery to identify and prioritize a list of facility renovation needs, to consider the Goff Companies proposal (Entrance, Foyer, Sanctuary, Children’s Building) as a starting point, to solicit other potential contractors for competitive bids, and to present options to the church for approval.
    • An ad-hoc building finance committee (to be voted on at the next business meeting).  Their task will be to solicit potential lenders if the need for financial capital is sufficient to require a loan, to work with the standing finance committee regarding any future debt payments that will need to be added to the annual church budget, and to present options to the church for approval.
  2.  We ask the staff to solicit church members willing to serve on a Capital Campaign Ministry Team in order to develop a plan to raise sufficient funds for the approved project(s).
  3. We formally recommend the disbanding of the ad-hoc relocation committee and the ad-hoc land finance committee.
Please continue in prayer over all of these endeavors, and ultimately for God to draw many to Himself in and through FBCNB!
