Missions

Below are some of the prominent mission opportunities and ministries at FBCNB. This is not an exhaustive list, so if God has put something on your heart to seek or to start, please contact us at FirstBaptist@fbcnb.org or 830-625-9124.

I LOVE NB

Jesus says that the world will know us by our love (John 13:35). Our hearbeat should be for others. FBCNB should be known for our love. To help communicate this drive, we are excited to dub our local missions ministry "I Love NB." We "Love NB" because God first loved us, and we are excited to lead people to Jesus. What better way to lead people to Jesus than by serving them with love? We desire to be "salt and light" to our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. We "Love NB" by providing school supplies, praying for First Responders, delivering Thanksgiving baskets, and witnessing to our neighbors. Please join us as we commit to "Love NB."

Family Promise

Family Promise helps homeless families regain independence by providing transportation, job training, life skills classes, a day center, and more while they work to get back on their feet. FBCNB and other local churches take turns hosting the families for one week four times a year, providing meals, fellowship, and a place to sleep.

Sign up online to volunteer with Family Promise May 28-June 4, 2017.
We will be hosting four adults and six children (two babies, three 4-year-olds, and one 8-year-old).
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jim Fielder at jcfield45@att.net or 512-757-6641.

International Missions

Schlitterbahn Outreach
Did you know that Schlitterbahn employs 250 international students each summer? We are looking for committed individuals to "adopt" one student, or several. This is a great opportunity to "Love NB" and reach the world at the same time. The goal is to show them the love of Christ through our actions by investing our time with them.

Adoption Ideas:

  • Take them to the store
  • Show them around town
  • Have them over for a cookout
  • Take them to the Outlet Mall in San marcos
  • Host a game night
  • Let them do their laundry at your home

The students usually have only one day a week off and no transportation to get around. This is wonderful opportunity to minister to an internatinal group without ever leaving town!

Please contact Tammera Schultz at tjsplus4@gmail.com or 830-708-7701 to sign up or learn more.
