MATTHEW 25 CHALLENGE - January 13-20, 2019

January 13-20, our church will be participating in World Vision's Matthew 25 Challenge, which is a week-long missional discipleship tool that will help you and your family step out of your comfort zones and engage in God's love for "the least of these brothers and sisters" who Jesus calls us to care for in Matthew 25:35-40. We will undertake a different challenge each day to both raise awareness of people in need and to be more compassionate toward them. Challenges include skipping lunch one day, wearing hte same clothes two days in a row, writing an encouraging note to someone, etc. Especially if you are unable to "go on a mission trip" this year, please join us as we do this together.
Text M25 to 44888 to join. You will receive a daily text with challenge details and video links.

The Matthew 25 Challenge will culminate in our Missions Night Sunday, January 20th, from 6:00-7:00pm in Rushing Hall.

We're also posting daily to our Facebook Page. Comment and let us know how God is moving in your life through this challenge, or email us at firstbaptist@fbcnb.org.

Jesus says that the world will know us by our love (John 13:35). Our hearbeat should be for others. FBCNB should be known for our love. To help communicate this drive, we are excited to dub our local missions ministry "I Love NB." We "Love NB" because God first loved us, and we are excited to lead people to Jesus. What better way to lead people to Jesus than by serving them with love? We desire to be "salt and light" to our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. We "Love NB" by providing school supplies, praying for First Responders, delivering Thanksgiving baskets, and witnessing to our neighbors. Please join us as we commit to "Love NB."

Family Promise

Family Promise helps homeless families regain independence by providing transportation, job training, life skills classes, a day center, and more while they work to get back on their feet. FBCNB and other local churches take turns hosting the families for one week four times a year, providing meals, fellowship, and a place to sleep.

Our next week to host is December 2-9. Please sign up online to volunteer. For more info, please contact Coordinator Jessica Melott at jessica_melott@hotmail.com or 210-705-3800.
