Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the Leadership of the Holy

Spirit, and in obedience to God's Word, we are committed to...

1. Worshipping in spirit and truth John 4:24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." (1 Chronicles 16:29; Psalm 95:6; 150:1-6; Matthew 22:37-38; Philippians 2:10-11; Colossians 3:26).
2. Being a people of prayer Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 56:7; Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
3. Serving from an humble heart Philippians 2:3-5 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus," (Proverbs 19:17; Matthew 20:25-28; 25:35-40; James 2:15-17; 1 Peter 4:9-11).
4. Strengthening families Deuteronomy 6:4-7 "Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.” (Proverbs 6:20; 22:6; Malachi 4:6; 2 Timothy 3:15).
5. Building a loving fellowship Acts 2:42 “And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:43-47; Philippians 2:1-2; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 John 1:3-7).
6. Uncompromising integrity in every relationship Proverbs 11:3 “The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the falseness of the treacherous will destroy them.” (Psalm 25:21; Matthew 15:18-20; John 13:34-35; Romans 14:12-13; Galatians 5:16-21).
7. Communicating Biblical truths 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:9-11; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; James 1:25).
8. Developing and equipping lifelong disciples Ephesians 4:11-13 “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Matthew 28:19-20; John 15:4; Ephesians 4:14-16; Colossians 1:28; Colossians 2:6-7).
9. Fulfilling the Great Commission Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Isaiah 6:8; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20).
10. Honoring God with excellence Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” (2 Samuel 24:24; Proverbs 3:9; Matthew 25:21; Romans 12:1; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Philippians 4:8).
The Importance of Core Values
Values determine ministry distinctives
  • Values dictate personal involvement
  • Values communicate what is important
  • Values embrace good change
  • Values influence overall behavior
  • Values inspire people to action
  • Values enhance credible leadership
  • Values contribute to ministry success
  • Values influence ministry, mission and vision
People, churches, and organizations behave in ways that are generally consistent with their real core values.  Just saying something is a value is not sufficient.  Actions validate the values.  Most strategic planning fails because values are not articulated at the beginning of the process.  If values differ significantly, even the best action plan will not be effectively implemented.  Values provide the foundation for formulating goals and setting the direction of the church's ministry.
