AWANA- Volunteers

Awana runs on the strength of its great volunteer staff. All of our volunteers are background-checked and trained. If you wish to help train Awana clubbers, you will need to interview with either the Commander or a Children's Ministry staff member and submit to the appropriate background checks. To volunteer, or for more information, contact Commander Dianne Barrett at awana@fbcnb.org.

Awana Ministry Conference

The Awana Ministry Conference is an annual event for Awana volunteers and parents. Yes, many of the workshops are geared toward Awana workers. But there are also several workshops you would enjoy as a parent. You may want to attend workshops on the things your children will be doing in Awana. But you will also find many workshops that discuss topics of Christian living that are helpful for personal spiritual growth or ideas to help your children grow spiritually.

This year's theme is The Great Connection: Pursuing the Sweet Spot of Your Ministry.  Every lifelong follower of Jesus is shaped through knowing God’s Word and being in relationship with Him and His people.  Effective disciples are made when Bible engagement and Christ-centered relationship intersect. We call this intersection The Great Connection.  You experience The Great Connection every week at your Awana club as you invest in kids relationally and help them engage with God’s Word.  Be better equipped, to not only run great programs, but to keep investing in relational disciple-making with kids and families.
The conference will be at Calvary Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio, on Saturday, October 15, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.  The registration fees are:
Early Bird registration (through September 10) is $30.
Regular registration (through October 9) is $40.
After October 9, including at the door, is $50.

If you would like to attend, please see the Awana Secretaries on Wednesday evenings in CLC 230, or email awana@fbcnb.org.

DUE TO BUS ACCIDENT

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
3/29/17 4:52pm

At approximately 2 pm this afternoon, a group of our senior adults were returning home from a 3-day retreat at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment when their vehicle was involved in a head-on collision.
We have heard that there have been fatalities, but we have not received any official details from the local authorities.
We are ministering to family members to help them deal with this tragedy. Counselors will be on hand at the church tomorrow.
If you're a Christian, you can pray for those who lost their loved ones and for the church family.
